Nature Study Camps

INTRODUCTION

The Adventure Foundation is an independent organisation formed to foster the principles of outward Bound concepts within traditionla, national, educational and recreational programmes. It does this by the promotion of various forms of outdoor activities and thrill sports. The foundation offers all kinds of people and opportunity to do things and travel the paths of adventure in the greate outdoors. Close contact with nature builds up self confidence through experience, brings high adventure through challenges and develops self-reliance through discovery.

THE PURPOSE

To provide young people with the means to develop their characters in close contact with nature; to get to know and love their country and participate in meaningful practical learning; and to develop community spirit by working together.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To enhance the skills of the students concerning initiatives, self reliance, leadership and team spirit. 
  2. To develop a sense of affiliation and stewardship towards nature.
  3. To share experiences and develop long-term linkages with nature and environment rptection.

An excellent change for schools and institutions to avail the opportunity of providing outdoor learning experiences to their students. Nature study camps are organized by the young explorers division in collaboration with WWF Pakistan to provide eductation mixed with pleasure and fun, so that the participants gain maximum knowledge.

 

WEEKEND NATURE STUDY CAMPS

This overnight camp has been designed to young children in the age group of 8 to 14 years (boys and girls) to create awareness of our natural environment, and to provide them with an opportunity to enjoy a healthy outdoor experience. The activities at camp are blend of skill spirit of teamwork. It involves nature study work, camp games and outdoor living initiatives. On the whole the experience shared at the camp will develop a senses of respect and love of nature among the participants. These camps are organized in Islamabad and Lahore on weekends. from October to March.

 

SALT RANGE NATURE STUDY CAMPS

These 3 day camps are arranged to students in the age group of 12 to 16 years (boys and girls). The students visit Khewra Salt Mines, Kallar Kahar, Khabaki and Uchalli Lakes. 

The are introduced to the concept of bird watching and also study the cultural and historical aspects of the area. These camps are organized in Islamabad and Lahore on weekends from October to March.

SUMMER CAMPS IN AYUBIA NATIONAL PARK

These 4 day camps have been designed for young children in the age group of 12 years and above (boys and girls) in the beautiful surroundings of ayubia National Park. Students are introducrd to basic camping skills trekking and flora and funna study. These camps are organized in Islamabad and Lahore fron June to August.

 

INDUS DOLPHIN NATURE CAMPS

These 4 day camps are arranged at Taunsa Barrage for students of 13 years and above (boys and girls). These camps provide a unique opportunity to see and study the famous bling indus dolphin in its natural environment. The students travel on traditional fishermen's boats and witness the srfaceing of the dolphins in the water near the boats. They also experience camping on the riverbank, studying the lifestyle of the fishing community, bird watching and a visit to historical sites in Multan. These camps are organized from Lahore and Multan from November to March.

HOW TO APPLY

Schools and institutions can contact their local AFP office for more information and bookings. Group of 22 to 25 students can avail the opportunity at a time. Two teachers can join on a complementary basis. Bookings are confirmed on a first come first server basis.
